Job longed for a daysman—a mediator who could “lay his hand upon us both” (Job 9:33). In Jesus, God answered that cry: “There is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” Yet for those who don’t know Him, the church is called to carry them to the Mediator through intercession—to be ambassadors who bridge the gap in prayer.
Like Esther, who risked everything to plead for her people, we take their names into the throne room. Like Jesus in Gethsemane, we stay awake while others sleep (Luke 22:44–45). This is personal: your spouse, your child, your grandchild—no one will pray for your people like you will.
So take hold of God with one hand and your people with the other. Pray for the Spirit to draw, to convict, to open eyes, to grant repentance, and to settle the discord so they can be blessed by His holy hand. Don’t sleep on your prayers—be the daysman.
