I Plead the Blood
In this sermon, the message follows the biblical picture of Satan as the adversary and accuser. From Job to Zechariah, Scripture shows the enemy bringing accusations against God’s people. But Revelation 12 declares that the accuser has been cast down and that believers overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. The enemy may still carry accusations, but he no longer has the final word. He has been disbarred, and every charge he brings must answer to what Christ accomplished at the cross.
Romans 8 brings us into another courtroom, but this time the seat at the right hand of God is not occupied by the accuser—it is occupied by our Intercessor, Jesus Christ. When the enemy points to our failures, our defense is not our own record, goodness, or ability to prove ourselves innocent. God is the One who justifies, Christ is the One who died and rose again, and nothing can separate us from His love. So when the accusation comes and the question is asked, “How do you plead?” our answer is simple: I plead the blood.
